Ford Needs Football Fans for the 2010 Taurus Game Day Drive Experience

Ford is calling on Football fans in the social media community to apply to participate in Ford’s latest drive experience – a long-weekend road trip to a pro football game in the brand new 2010 Taurus, Ford’s flagship sedan. Applicants must love everything football as well as participate with social media activities such as blogging, Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, etc.
The Ford Taurus Game Day Drive Experience will provide the opportunity for participants to drive the 2010 Taurus over a three-day long weekend to attend a select pro football game.
While roadtripping, the web-savvy participants will demonstrate the Taurus’ state-of-the-art technology features to people along their drive; documenting and posting their experiences to TheFordStory.com.
Also, participants in the drive experience will be automatically qualified as hosts for the October 18th, Taurus Game Day House Party™ promotion.
The 2010 Ford Taurus is equipped with state-of-the-art technology features including:
- Voice-Activated Navigation System with SIRIUS Travel Link: uses an eight-inch screen with a bird’s-eye view map showing 3D landmarks, plus real-time traffic, current weather and ski conditions, five-day forecasts, fuel station locations and prices, sports scores and movie listings
- Cross Traffic Alert: uses radar to sense oncoming traffic within 3 car widths when slowly backing out of a parking spot
- Blind Spot Information System: Uses radar to warn the driver when an approaching vehicle enters the defined blind spot zone
- Multi-Contour Seats with Active Motion: an industry-exclusive feature for both driver and passenger that reduces fatigue, integrating a six-way lumbar support and subtle rolling-pattern massage
- Ford SYNC®: the fully integrated, in-vehicle voice-activated communications and entertainment system, with 911 Assist™ and Vehicle Health Report functionality. The newest version of SYNC includes a GPS receiver and Traffic, Directions & Information services that offer turn-by-turn route guidance and access to personalized content such as sports scores, news and gas prices.
- MyKey™: allows parents or fleet administrators to activate a restricted driving mode. When enabled, MyKey features a persistent BeltMinder with Audio Mute until safety belts are buckled, an earlier low-fuel warning and consistently engaged AdvanceTrac stability control, Forward Collision Warning
